Betz King is a psychologist in Metropolitan Detroit. She presents nationally on a variety of animal-assisted therapy topics, and recently completed a research study on dog park membership and well-being. She is the chair of the HAI Emotional Support Animal Position Statement Committee, a member of the Animal-Assisted Therapy Competencies Committee, and a reviewer for the Human-Animal Interaction Bulletin. Betz is also a board member and volunteer for Teacher's Pet, a non-profit intervention program that pairs troubled youth with hard-to-adopt shelter dogs for multi-week workshops. Betz shares her heart and home with her husband and three dogs.
