Christina Moore, LMSW, is a social worker and grief counselor. She earned her BA in Environmental Studies and MSSW with a certificate in Veterinary Social work from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She was a graduate assistant in the veterinary social work program where she was active in program development, newsletter production, and peer mentorship. While at the University of Tennessee she had the opportunity to become a registered HABIT handler,  human animal bond in Tennessee, to partner with a registered therapy dog for school social work and has facilitated equine assisted mental health groups. She has written policy and helped consult for nonprofits and agencies starting AAI programs, and is passionate about grief work, for human and animal deaths, and is currently a grief counselor and pet loss support group facilitator who integrates veterinary social work tenants and HAI in her work with clients, and partners with animals in AAI while in practice in children’s grief camps and retreats. She was previously a freelance editor and was employed as a communications coordinator before fully pursuing AAI and social work.
